Pink Glitter Abstract Accent

Something sweet and a little funky to start off the week :)

Another easy one that works for shorter length nails with  just the right amount of simple yet playful. The Accent nail is China Glaze White On White, Konad Special Polish in Black and Bundle Monster plate BM-221.

(Left to Right: China Glaze Sugar High/Fairy Dust/ Orly Crazy Diamond)

The solid nails are two coats of Sugar High, a coat of Fairy Dust, a coat of Crazy Diamond and top it all off with Seche Vite top coat. Make sure you have a good amount of time to let all of these layers of polish dry. I watched TV for about 45 minutes before I risked touching anything or smudging all my shiny smooth nails :)

Just a couple things to note about the glitter polishes... they are both very similar except for the glitter in Crazy Diamond is about three times the size of the fine glitter in Fairy Dust. I like to layer the two but personally feel the finer the glitter the more elegant the look. Unfortunately,  Fairy Dust has been discontinued so if you love it as much as I do better stock up while you can :)

Gem Swirl Nails

This picture has been hiding on my camera for a few months and I thought I would finally share.

I was experimenting with rhinestones and I'm not sure if I like the results but it is interesting. The Pretty Purple is China Glaze Tart-y For The Party and the gems are from Cheeky.

Black and White Accent Nails

It has been a while since I've posted a new design and that my friends is because I have'nt had any nails to paint. I passed my Mammography exam and now have my license but I ended up biting my nails off in the process of waiting for results. That's right... I am a nail biter. Hard to believe but it's true. Every once in a while, driven by stress, I fall victim to my old childhood bad habit. Maybe that explains my obsession with long nails and polish. Any how, here is a little something I came up with for my shorter but growing nails. :)
This is a very simple design and I think it works well for short nails or for those times when you are growing your nails back out after a break.

This manicure would lend itself really well to any color you like but these are the ones I used.
Konad Special Polish in Black/China Glaze White on White and Adventure Red-Y

This is what your nails look like after you apply your base Polish. I used two coats of white for my accent and three coats of red for the remaining nails. Two coats of the red would have worked but since I am going to wear the color without a design I did the third for good measure so that my color won't be streaky in the sunlight.

I used the Hounds Tooth design from Mash image plate Mash-47 and Konad Special Black for my accent nail.

So easy! Seche Vite top coat and done.

Faux Saran wrap Nail Art

My new favorite stamp! These kind of look like a turquoise stone and they definitely look similar to saran wrap nails but it's just two polishes mixed right on the image plate.

The light color peeking out is my base polish China Glaze Keep Calm Paint On. Browsing through my stamp collection I stumbled on Bundle Monster plate BM-301 and realized I haven't even noticed this design before.  I tried it with just the green (Konad Special Polish in Green) and it was a little boring but then I decided to add a blobs of both green and blue (Sally Hansen Insta-Dri Brisk Blue) to the plate and here is what I got.  Very cool effect that would be a quick and easy way to do a tri-colored manicure in a pinch for time. Love when things are simple and only look complicated. :)
